The deadline to sign up for Salem City baseball and softball leagues are approaching quickly.

The 5/6th grade boys basketball team captured 3rd place this past weekend. Congratulations young Pirates! Girls volleyball has another busy week with three games, including 8th grade night. Monday, the ladies will travel to Kell. C game starts at 5:15. Tuesday, they travel to take Odin with the C game beginning at 4:00. Then, to cap off the week, the girls will host Selmaville on Thursday, February 15. This is the night we honor our 8th graders. C game starts at 4:00.

It was a busy week in volleyball. The Lady Pirates won there 4th contest of the week. Iuka defeated Raccoon in the varsity contest last night. JV lost 16-25 15-25 Varsity won 25-12 25-15 The Lady Pirates have three games next week with Thursday, February 15 being 8th grade night. The boys 5/6 grade basketball team plays tonight in the 3rd place game at 6:30 at Selmaville. After that game Kaden, Landon, Kinnley, and Katee will be honored as part of the boys and girls all conference teams. girls team will be receiving their OBC Conference Championship award.

Our 5/6 grade boys basketball team lost a tough fought game 33-22 against Selmaville. They will play Friday for 3rd place. The girls volleyball team played their 3rd game of the week on Wednesday Night as Iuka played a home make up game against St. Peter. The JV lost 16-25 23-25, but after a slow start Varsity won 16-25 25-17 15-7. The girls will be at home this evening as they take on OBC opponent Raccoon. C game will begin at 5:00.

In volleyball action last night: Iuka vs. Clay City JV won 25-18 25-9 Sophia B had 17 points. Varsity won 25-14 25-10 Kenley C and Paelynn H had 5 kills. Kinnley E had 6 kills. Sophia B had 18 points. Sophia B served 35 points tonight in JV and Varsity combined! Wow! In the Boys 5/6th grade basketball tournament, the boys won 49-42 over Raccoon. Zach J had 12, Brooks H had 13, Eli B had 15. We play tonight at 6:30 vs Selmaville at Willow Grove.

In volleyball action last night against Flora: Iuka vs. Flora JV won 25-22 18-25 15-7 Addie S had 11 pts. Sophia B had 12 pts. Varsity won 25-5 25-9 Katee S had 8 pts. Emily J had 3 kills and 13 pts. The team will head to Clay City Tuesday.

The Volleyball Pirates had success at the Central City Round Robin Tournament on Saturday! Iuka vs. Central City Won 25-18 25-19 Kenley C had 10 pts. Iuka vs. Summersville Lost 25-21 17-25 10-15 Kinnley E had 10 pts., 18 hits, and 2 kills Iuka vs. Rome Won 25-5 25-15 Katee S had 10 pts. Paelynn H had 4 kills. Kinnley E and Katee S were recognized on the All- Tournament Team.
