Lady Pirates Score 20 In Win The Iuka Lady Pirates beat Bethel 21-2. Kenley C. was the winning pitcher with 6 strikeouts. Kenzie C. struck out 2 in her inning of work. Emily J. hit a home run, Ava R. had a base hit and 2 RBI, Grayce R. also drove in a run. The boys JV baseball team lost a tough matchup with Salem 4-2.

Iuka Lady Pirates moves to 10-3 on the year with win over Raccoon 12-2. Katee S. struck out 12 and allowed only 1 hit. She went 2-2 at plate with 2 RBIs. Emily J. and Kenley C. each had a hit and RBI and Lilly M. had a double.

Landon W. struck out 13 batters as the starting pitcher led Iuka Pirates past Raccoon Grade School 7-2 on Monday. Landon gave up five hits and two runs over seven innings while walking two. Iuka Pirates opened the scoring in the second after an error scored one run. Damon J, Landon W., Kaden C., Eli B.,, Zach J., and Devan J. each collected hits for Iuka Pirates. Damon, Zach, and Devan each drove in one run for Iuka Pirates. Landon and Zach each stole multiple bases for Iuka Pirates. Iuka Pirates ran wild on the base paths, piling up 10 stolen bases for the game. Iuka Pirates didn't commit a single error in the field. The Iuka Pirates welcome Selmaville Rockets on Thursday for their next game.

Boys Baseball will be celebrating 8th grade night this evening as they take on North Clay at 4:30. Come out and support the team!

Iuka lady pirates beat Wayne city on 8th grade night 12-0. Katee S., with the help of her solid defense behind her, threw a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Lilly M. had 2 hits and 2 RBI, Emily J. with 2hits and RBI. Elaina D. had a hit with a RBI, Kenzie M. and Kenley C. had a hit. The Lady Pirates play at Bluford tomorrow night.

Pirate Nation: If you were attending one of our softball or baseball games, the cost for a Slim Jim is $1.00. We had a nice person fill in for our regular person who did not know they were $1.00 and charged 25 cents for them at a recent game. The school makes roughly 33 cents off of the sale of a Slim Jim. We are sorry for the confusion and we are thankful we had someone willing to fill in to work in the concession stand. Thank you for support Pirate activities and athletics!

We will be celebrating our 8th students who play baseball or softball. For Softball, their 8th grade night will be Thursday, September 7 at 4:30 against Wayne City. Baseball will be Friday, September 8 at 4:30 against North Clay. In the event of a rain out, 8th grade night would be at the next available home game! Congratulations to our Baseball and Softball 8th graders!

The Iuka Lady Pirates over Sandoval 14-2 Kenzie C. and Katee S. combine for win in circle. Kenzie struck out 7. Lilly M. lead the team with 2 hits and 4 RBIs, Katee had 1 hit 3RBIs, and Kenzie M. with a hit.

The Cross Country meet scheduled for today @ Salem has been canceled due to the weather.

In Pirate Baseball action last evening: Kaden C. struck out 10 batters as the starting pitcher led Iuka Pirates past Field baseball team 11-4 on Thursday. Kaden allowed five hits and four runs over four and two-thirds innings while walking three. Iuka Pirates got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after field baseball team committed an error, Kaden C. doubled, Zach J. walked, and Devan J. singled, each scoring one run. Damon J. , Kaden C. and Devan J. each collected two hits for Iuka Pirates. Devan, the number seven hitter for Iuka Pirates, led the way with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Landon W. paced Iuka Pirates with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating 11 walks for the game. Kaden stole three bases. Iuka Pirates stole seven bases in the game. Iuka Pirates didn't commit a single error in the field. Damon had the most chances in the field with 10. Iuka Pirates will take on Sandoval today at home. Game time is 4:30.

Pirate Nation: we will be conducting our annual intruder drill next Thursday, September 6, 2023. The drill is not intense and we let our students and staff know in advance what can be expected. This is a required annual drill and we are required by school code to notify parents and guardians of the drill.

Boys Baseball is at home at 4:30 against Field. Girls Softball will be at the Salem Little League complex against Selmaville at 4:30.

The JV Pirates defeated Selmaville last evening, 9-7. Great job to our JV team!!!
